Class Reflection

This has been a great class. It has been very interesting and I have really learned a lot. I never knew how much my own computer could do to adapt for those who have special needs. Not only have I learned that the computer can help my students, but how much I could use it for helping me in the classroom. I wish all good luck in their future as teachers. I truly believe those of us who are teacher assistants can become the best teachers as we have already had experience in the classroom.

Assistive Technology

The Assistive Technology assignment was very interesting. I was not aware of what all could be done for impaired people on the computer. I always thought you would have to buy extra stuff for the computer to do the things like magnify, sounds, and such. This was very good to know because you never know when you might need to use it for someone.

Website

I really liked making the website. The only thing I was not sure of is how to make it a little more elaborate. My site was a little on the boring side, but I couldn't figure out how to add color to it. It is not elaborate but I do feel it is informative. I would like to experiment with it more.

Webtools and Turnitin

I really struggled with the webtools project. I liked the rubric part, as sometimes I have hard time putting into words what I want to look for in grading. As for as the quiz, it was east to do, but I struggled with the saving part of it. I have yet to figure it out. The Trackstar was also interesting, but again I was not sure how to submit it. THis was not my favorite assignment thus far, but as always I did learn something.

The Turnitin, I reallyliked. This will be very helpful for older students, but also me as a college student. I knew there were sites out there for this, but was not sure of them. I am glad to now have this information.

Google Groups

Again, this assignment was very interesting. I have learned so much about Google that I never even knew existed. I was concerned how it was going to be working in groups, when you actually have never met or laid eyes on the other group members. I figured it would be difficult since we were not able to meet in person, but I learned quickly it was not that bad. I think it would have been better to have met, but I think that would have defeated the purpose of the assignment. I think I could use this in the future. I would really like to have a group page for all the Kindergarten teachers and TAs at our school to share ideas. This way everyone could view them and you wouldn't forget who you told your new idea to and who you forgot to tell. All in all this was a great experience.

My Story

This was a fun project. I have never worked in Windows Movie Maker, but I found out it was not very hard. I did play around in it a little and saw that you can get alot more detailed with it. In our classrooms at school we do end of the year DVD's for the kids. I think this would be a great program to do the DVD in. I will definitely be using this again. The only problem I had was I couldn't get my narrative and music to do together.

My URL

I have tried both my URL's and the one I uploaded for Inspiration, I cannot get to open. The other one I uploaded from Word works fine. So if you choose one choose the second URL. For those who do not know how to do this, choose the second URL, then choose download, then open and it will pop up. I am letting you know because this was all new to me, and I am starting to figure it out.
